Description:
Our clients asked us to create a kitchen traditional in style to tie into their early 1800’s schoolhouse renovation, but with the modern amenities of their updated home. We worked together to come up with a solid walnut kitchen with integrated appliances and dramatic trim styling. The upper cabinets provide enough storage for everyday use items while the glass doors showcase the couple’s antiques acquired on their travels. The light pastel paint used on the upper cabinetry creates a feeling of lightness in contrast to the dark lower cabinets, and continuity with the plaster hood vent surround. The brass hardware and range details are accented by Huey Light Shop, which were handmade by the clients. The large cove-style crown molding was made by A.J. and is a nod to his introduction to cabinetmaking in traditional woodshops.
